Local NPO to hold AGM to account to stakeholders and community

Care-net Development and Support Organisation will host an Annual General Meeting (AGM) next week Saturday in Mabopane Pretoria, where they will be giving evidence of transparency to their stakeholders.

The AGM is statutory in line with the NPO ACT 71 of 1997 for NPOS to account to the government, community, and the donors about the business of the year.

The organization has been working with vulnerable children, families, orphans, and youth since 2007.

The director of Care-Net, Mmatsatsi Makgohloa, said this is a yearly meeting which is required by the law.

“We want the public to know about the type of services we render. We inform them about the income and expenditure for the financial year 2019-2020. As local NPO, we are ready to answer public questions on the type of services rendered and give the public a chance to express new needs if any,” she added.

New officials and an audit firm will also be chosen at the meeting while the board will continue to govern the NPO.
